Network President Participates in Live Radio Program on Civil Society and the 2011 Constitution

On Wednesday, July 31, 2019, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Mr. Mohamed Benlaidi, President of the Dokkala Non-Governmental Associations Network, took part in the live radio program “Ida’at” broadcast by the National Radio and Television Company in Casablanca.

The program focused on the topic: “Civil Society, Its Positioning in the 2011 Constitution, Achievements, and Challenges.” Discussions addressed the role granted to civil society within Morocco’s 2011 Constitution and its contribution to civic participation, participatory democracy, and the implementation of public policies.

The debate also highlighted the achievements made by associations and civil society organizations in recent years, as well as the challenges related to funding, training, capacity building, advocacy, and public consultation mechanisms.

During his intervention, Mr. Mohamed Benlaidi emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships between public institutions and civil society organizations in order to support serious civic initiatives and promote the values of citizenship, good governance, and democratic development.

The radio program provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives and experiences regarding the current realities and future prospects of associative and civic work in Morocco.
